The Grove Church Madison Staff

From the Pastor's Heart

I want to personally thank you for visiting our site. The Grove is an exciting place to be as we are on a journey together with a focus and a passion for reaching our community for Jesus Christ.

The Grove family desires one thing - to honor God in everything we do. One of the best ways we can do this is by ministering to your needs and showing you the love of Jesus Christ. So whether you are searching for purpose in your life, desiring to serve God more faithfully, or just looking for a place to worship, I want to invite you to join us one Sunday or Wednesday for our regular services. We are excited about what God is doing at The Grove, and would love for you to join us. Come experience the Grove difference!

Serving Jesus,

Ross Clemmons

Our Pastor

Ross Clemmons

ross-clemmonsRoss and his family have been at The Grove since 2003 when he accepted the position as pastor. Prior to joining The Grove family, Ross served as student pastor for First Baptist Church- Elberton, GA (1997-2003) and Byne Memorial Baptist Church- Albany, GA (1993-1997). He received his bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Samford University in May, 1991 and his masters degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in July, 1993.

Ross accepted Jesus Christ into his life on June 24, 1984 at the age of 15 and has been a dedicated follower and witness ever since. Ross has a sincere passion for the Lord and an overriding desire that every person he touches would come to know Jesus.

Ross and the entire Grove family share a vision that we would be a church, based on the very word of God given to us in the Bible, that encourages each and every member in fellowship and reaches out to every individual in our community so that they would know the undying love and salvation that can only be obtained by trusting in Jesus Christ.

Student Ministers

Clay and Amanda Thomas

Clay and Amanda joined The Grove team in AprilClayandAmanda 2010. Previously, Clay served as Student Minister at Kennewick Baptist Church in Kennewick, WA and as Middle School Director at First Baptist Aledo located in Aledo, TX. Clay grew up in the small town of Alexander City, AL before moving to Troy, AL to attend Troy University where he achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management in 2005. After college, God called Clay to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX to pursue a degree in Student Ministry where he completed his Masters in Christian Education degree with a focus in Student Ministry in May 2010. Not only did Clay find a degree during his time in Fort Worth, he met the love of his life Amanda. Amanda grew up in Hattiesburg, MS and is pursuing her Masters degree in Professional Counseling. Clay and Amanda spend a majority of their free time with their two golden retrievers Buddy and Coby. As far as hobbies, Fall is Clay's favorite time of year because it means its time for cold weather, college football, and hunting!!! Amanda enjoys scrapbooking and reading.

Clay and Amanda have such a passion and love for students. The desire of their hearts is for students to understand what Jesus really meant in Matthew 16:24 when He calls his disciples (and us) to turn from our own ways, pick up our crosses, and follow!
