Our Purpose

The Grove Baptist Church exists to REACH people for Jesus Christ, to CONNECT them to other believers, to help them GROW in their faith, to SERVE Christ according to their God-given abilities and to HONOR God with their lives.

Where do we get our purpose statement?

THE GREAT COMMANDMENT
“Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-40

THE GREAT COMMISSION
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 “Unless the driving force behind a church is biblical, the health and growth of the church will never be what God intended. Strong churches are not built on programs, personalities or gimmicks. They are built on the eternal purpose of God.” - Rick Warren

GROW

The Grove Tree symbolizes our desire to grow:

  • Larger through evanglism...
  • Closer in fellowship...
  • Deeper in discipleship...
  • Broader in ministry...
  • Stronger through worship for the glory of Jesus
